2008 Scottish Open betting markets open

Top British bookmaker William Hill has opened ante-post betting markets for the 2008 Scottish Open.

The outright winner betting market is headed by Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els. The two players are priced as joint favourites at 8/1, despite neither showing much in the way of form so far this season.

Adam Scott and Lee Westwood occupy the second tier of the 2008 Scottish Open betting market for outright winners. Westwood and Lee are both priced at good odds of 14/1 for Loch Lomond’s biggest tournament.

Golf fans can benefit from some great prices on leading golfers in these markets. For example, local hero Colin Montgomerie is priced at 25/1 to win a tournament in his own back yard, while Argentina’s Angel Cabrera will also pay out at 25/1.

With such high odds on offer golf fans have the opportunity to place each way bets. These bets not only pay out if a selection finishes the tournament as winner, but also pay out ¼ of the odds on offer if the selection finishes in the top three.
